Supply Chain Director



Our client is a Dublin based fast expanding pharmaceutical company. Continued rapid growth has led to the need for a newly created senior management role : Supply Chain Director.

Job Spec :

Responsible for overall supply chain performance . Member of the management team and gives input into business strategy

  • Establish applicable metrics, trackers and reviews to ensure that products and CMO sites achieve the established targets for performance on a variety of performance metrics, including inventory turnover.
  • Coordinate shipping including cold chain shipments to ensure quality of pharmaceutical medication products and patient safety is maintained.
  • Procure and purchase supplies and inventory according practices of Pharma regulations and Sarbannes Oxley rules and guidance.
  • Optimise the Logistics processing involves the careful planning of transportation requirements, warehousing, forecasting, processing orders, controlling inventory, physical facilities management and customer service with the goal achieving the highest level of satisfaction of commercial organisation.
  • Manage the Sales and Operations (S&OP) process and relationship with the commercial group and ensure representative forecasts are agreed over long term.
  • Maintain good and favourable supply agreements with manufacturers in conjunction with legal
  • Work with Quality, Technical Operations and others to mitigate against manufacturing and quality challenges that have potential to stop shipment and reduce inventory
  • Work with Quality and others to effect coordinated product reconciliation and recall or field correction
  • Develop and manage a Business continuity plan for products.
  • Coordination launch of new products and line extensions.
  • Ensure product trade dress is maintained with respect to pharma regulation, legal and intellectual property.
  • Ensure awareness with new developments in Pharma Supply Chain practice and promote same across the site.
  • Total quality budget over $TBD dollars.
  • Have two or more direct reports and 3 or more reports.
  • Travel to company sites, CMO and partners on frequent basis.
Person Spec:

  • Bachelor degree in business management, engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline, MBA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of, and experience in supply chain management
  • 10+ years’ experience gained within a high volume, finished product pharmaceutical Medical Device or healthcare manufacturing environment in a number of supply chain disciplines.
  • Such disciplines to include demand planning, purchasing, materials management, manufacturing, clinical supplies, logistics or other related area.
  • Experience of global Pharma sourcing specifically US and EU
    Demonstrated negotiation skills in achieving favourable services for
  • Experience in people management
  • High level of customer orientation/understanding
  • Demonstrated experience in non-confrontational issue resolution with customers (both internal and external).
  • Ability to influence internal and external constituents
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
