TOBIN Consulting Engineers provides a complete multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy service currently have a requirement for an experienced specialist GIS Technician to work in our Dublin office with a background in the Energy and Environment Sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of mapping and figures primarily for Environmental Reports (including Constraints, Route Selection and EIS Reports) and Public Consultation Events.

Key Tasks include:

  • GIS map production
  • Spatial analysis
  • Management of spatial data
  • Managing software licences
  • Co-ordination of environmental input to mapping
  • Working closely with other members of Project Teams
Required Experience/Competencies

  • Relevant degree or GIS Training Course
  • Prior work experience with ArcGIS (3 years minimum)
  • Prior work experience in the energy and environment sector
  • Knowledge of MapInfo, AutoCAD, and In Design would be preferable although not essential
  • Competent in report writing
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Competent in excel and access
  • Excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage several priorities at once
